Romano x Reader - Bubbly

The sunlight beaming down on your face, you slowly open up your eyes, shielding them with your arm. Just as you were about to sit up, you heard a knock on your door.

“Bella? You awake?” asked Lovino, opening the door slightly.

“Yeah Lovi, come on in,” you called out, watching as he entered your room, sitting next to you.

“Breakfast is downstairs,” he said as you hugged him.

“Ok~” you replied, smiling. After five minutes of staying in this position, Lovino finally spoke up.

“Idiot, your food will be cold if we stay here any longer. Come on let’s go,” he told you, escaping your hold.

“Eeeh, I’m too lazy to… Carry me?” you asked, holding your arms out towards him.

‘D-Damn it! Why does she have to look so cute!!’ he thought, looking at you, with your slightly tilted, puppy dog face. He could never say no to that face.

Wordlessly, he turned and crouched down, letting you crawl onto his back. Once you were seated comfortably, he stood back up, grabbing onto your legs as he walked down the stairs.

You could see him blushing, and this made you smile. You always liked it when he blushed, it was just too cute. It made you feel tingly all over, knowing he was blushing because of you, though you didn’t know why exactly. You buried your face into the back of his shirt, comforted by the feel of his warmth.

“Lovino! I’m back!” you called out, slamming the front door shut before going into the kitchen, putting groceries into the fridge.

“Ah, welcome ba- Ragazza, you’re soaked!” he exclaimed, pointing at you, “Now the floor’s all soaked! Just mopped it too…”

“Sorry Lovi, I’ll clean it for you later! I just need to keep the groceries first ok?” you said apologetically, keeping some ice-cream in the fridge.

“Just go and change,” he replied, grabbing the bags from you, keeping the groceries himself.

You smiled, silently thanking him, before going off to your room. After changing into a comfortable pair of T-shirt and shorts, you came back downstairs to start cleaning up the trail of water you had left behind.

However, all you saw was Lovino standing up, just after cleaning up your mess.

“Lovi, you didn’t have to. It was my fault after all-“ you started, before being silenced as a cup of hot chocolate was placed in your hands.

“Are you stupid? You’ll catch another cold again if you don’t get warmed up, especially since you get sick so easily,” he said, wrapping a blanket around your thin frame and giving your head a light knock.

“…Thank you Lovi,” you smiled, giving him a kiss on the cheek before moving to sit on the couch, gesturing for him to join you as you took a sip of your hot chocolate.

You lay your head on his neck, that warm feeling once again spreading throughout your entire body.

“But Lovi~~ I’m not sleepy yet~” you whined childishly, giving him a pout.

“What are you? 5? Go to sleep,” he said bluntly, turning away to sleep.

“Meanie,” you replied, sticking your tongue out at him, before huffing and turned away, plopping onto the mattress.

A few seconds later, you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist from behind, before turning you to face him.

“Can you go to sleep now?” he asked, pulling you closer to his chest to try and hide his steadily growing blush.

“Nnh,” you agreed, closing your eyes to try and get some sleep.

After you fell asleep, Lovino took a look at you. You looked so content and innocent as you slept, that he couldn’t resist kissing you. He pecked your nose and quietly whispered to you so that you wouldn’t wake up.

“I love you (Name). Buonanotte.”

Unconsciously, you smiled brightly at that, as Lovino held you protectively, his warmth never leaving your side.
